As a student at Acton Boxborough Regional High School, I have worked with a range of media on two- and three-dimensional surfaces, and supplemented my studio art knowledge with classes at Acton Art. In addition to art, my passions include baking and dancing.
In creating my broadside illustration, I empathized with the frustration felt by the speaker in Ron Padgett's poem regarding stereotypical interpretations of poetry. I thought deeply about point of view and position of the figure, conveying this impatience and irritation by extending the figure's limbs in an exasperated manner. I also manipulated line quality to enhance this emotion and provoke a response in the viewer.
